The following information was provided by Alice Faye Dolezal who has researched the Dolezal genealogy: James and Frances Dolezal and family came to the United States from the port of Hamburg, Germany in March of 1889, and arrived at the port of New York. Their trip was paid by James' brother, John, who already lived at San Pierre, Indiana. The family consisted of James, Frances, and eight children -- Anna, Joseph, Frank, Mary, John, Barbara, Josephine, and James. A daughter, Frances, was born later. James and Frances are buried in All Saints Catholic Cemetary in San Pierre. 1. Anna married John Holub 2. Joseph married Anna Pesta, and later Blanche Pesta 3. Frank married Elizabeth Vessely 4. Mary married Joseph Siska 5. John married Eleanor Koza 6. Barbara married Frank Zakostelsky 7. Josephine married Joseph Vessely 8. James married Mary Kays 9. On Joseph's petition for naturalization, his birth date is listed as 16 March 1876. Around 1897, Joseph married Anna Pesta, who died in 1903. To this marriage was born 3 children -- Bessie, Edward, and Emma. On 24 January 1905, Joseph married Blanche Pesta (no apparent relation to Anna). To them were born seven children -- Lillian, Helen, Joseph A., Ralph, Agnes, Mildred, and Cyril. 1. Bessie married Joseph Vanek 2. Edward married Selma Hoppe 3. Emma married Robert Phillips 4. Lillian married William Gehring 5. Helen married John Woytinek 6. Joseph A. married Lillian (Dimps) Pixey 7. Ralph married Leona Henning 8. Agnes married Joseph Origer 9. Mildred married Claude Akers 10. Cyril married Alice Lucas Joseph most likely learned from his work at his Uncle John's general store about retailing. He later went into business with Joseph Sindelar, establishing Two Joes' Store in North Judson. Joe's children, and many of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren have worked in Two Joes'. It was a family-owned grocery and dry goods store until Cyril's family sold the business in the 1990's.

Pictured are Great Grandpa James Dolezal and Great Grandma Frances and two of their children, James Jr. and Josephine (Vessely). Below is a newspaper clipping about the death of Great Grandpa James. Jerry points out that the same priest, Father Felix Scroczynski, officiated at the funeral of James in 1905 in San Pierre and the funeral of Grandpa Joseph in 1938 in North Judson.
